Summary

SFGate is the Hearst-owned website sister-site of the San Francisco Chronicle and the go-to online source for all news and entertainment related to the Bay Area.

When SFGate wanted to announce the launch of their new mobile website to 22 million monthly readers, they tapped Clancy Schaer to develop an integrated advertising campaign. Clancy Schaer created a campaign pairing light-hearted copy playing up common smartphone gestures with rich photography from SFGate’s archive. The successful campaign ran online, in print, and out-of-home, including Muni bus shelters and BART trains.

The campaign needs to be progressive, provocative, and passionate – all attributes of SFGate. Take risks and push boundaries while celebrating SFGate’s new mobile website and the uniqueness of the city. A city on the edge and one with a unique point-of-view.
